Hello,
I have been in private practice, as a fitness coach, for over 13 years helping hundreds of people meet and exceed their fitness goals. My practice continues to grow because my clients see results and keep coming back for more.
I am one of the most qualified trainers as far as education and experience. I graduated from the University of Connecticut where I earned my BS in Nutritional Sciences/Dietetics. While at UConn I worked in the sports medicine department helping athletes return to peak performance. Upon graduation, I worked in a sports medicine clinic helping athletes and non-athletes return to the activities and sports they enjoyed the most. It is here where I built my private practice by taking patients from rehabilitation and transitioning them into a more comprehensive and challenging fitness program.
I perform a needs analysis that consists of goal setting, health history and a comprehensive evaluation to establish a baseline starting point and to identify any areas of risk that might lead to injury with increased activity.
Over the years my practice has evolved from training clients 1 on 1 to training clients in a semi-private (2-3 clients in a group) and small group environment (4-6 clients in a group). The trend in fitness is large group personal fitness coaching. In my opinion this is not the most ideal way to help the majority of people that need fitness coaching. When your groups become too large you lose the personal connection that is important in any relationship. I don’t just want to work you hard physically (I will do that too!!), but I want to know you as a person. I can’t help you overcome barriers if I only know you on a superficial level.
Lastly, I will give you all the solutions you need to stay on track towards reaching your fitness goals. You just need to follow my direction and put in a perfect effort every training session.
